Shane Lowry seized a four-shot lead heading into the final round of the Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, County Clare. Lowry, the 2019 Open champion, carded a five-under 65 on Saturday, one-putting every green on the back nine to maintain control. He opened a three-shot advantage after a course-record 62 on Friday.

Jacob Skov Olesen of Denmark finished second at 12 under after a 66, while Joaquin Niemann of Chile moved to third. Rory Mc Ilroy, seeking his first title since 2022, struggled with a 74 and two double bogeys on the front nine. The round was briefly halted as US President Donald Trump arrived via Air Force One at Shannon Airport.

Lowry expressed confidence going into the final round, aiming for his second Irish Open title. Olesen, chasing his first DP World Tour title, bogeyed the final hole. Tom Mc Kibbin and Daniel Rodrigues matched Lowry's 65 to sit alongside him.

Rasmus Hojgaard finished six under despite reaching 10 under early. Lowry hopes to end a winless start to 2026 and secure his first individual victory since 2022.
