Matt Fitzpatrick says he is not "100% comfortable" with travelling to Dubai for the DP World Tour Championship in November, where he is due to defend his title. He is concerned the UAE could be a target in the conflict between Iran, the US and Israel. "You've only got to look at the hotel that got hit earlier this year," he told BBC Sport. "I was having dinner the week I won in that hotel."

Fitzpatrick would like the event moved, calling it a "no brainer, in my opinion," but added: "I'm not a sponsor, I'm not paying the bills." DP World Tour chief executive Guy Kinnings is assessing safety for the final two play-off events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

"It is frustrating because as someone who likes to plan and be prepared, it is difficult to figure out what's going on," Fitzpatrick said. "I can't say I'm 100% comfortable, but I guess you just have to see nearer the time."

Shane Lowry said the tour faces "huge decisions." A DP World Tour spokesperson said: "It remains our intention to play as scheduled in the UAE but we continue to monitor the situation."
