Shrewsbury takeover: Scott Davidson backed by Brad Friedel

Shrewsbury fans will be scouring the internet to learn about new owner Scott Davidson - but his backer needs no introduction. Brad Friedel describes Davidson as one of the most talented and humble people he has ever met.

Davidson is a self-made multi-millionaire with a commercial real estate background. He studied at the Yale School of Management and spent 12 years as managing director at JPMorgan Chase in New York.

His love of football has grown. He's majority shareholder of Spartans, helping them win promotion from the Lowland League to within touching distance of SPFL League One - one of Scottish football's biggest success stories in recent years. He's also helped develop Spartans' football foundation, one of the UK's biggest.

He holds a UEFA 'A' licence, helping him understand what a manager needs. Davidson hopes to put that preparation into action at Shrewsbury with Friedel's support.
