A judgement has been reached on the 115 charges levelled against Manchester City over breaches of Premier League financial rules. Following a four-year investigation, the hearing began on 16 September 2024. BBC Sport has learned a decision has been made, after the Athletic reported City had been found guilty on almost all charges. However, the process is not over.

The charges, relating to financial rules between 2009 and 2018, include 54 failures to provide accurate financial information, 14 failures on player and manager payments, and 35 failures to cooperate with investigations. City have always denied wrongdoing and have said they would appeal if found guilty.

German newspaper Der Spiegel published leaked documents alleging inflated sponsorship revenue from Etihad and Etisalat, and secret payments to manager Roberto Mancini. City have strongly denied breaking any rules, calling the leaks an attempt to damage their reputation.

The timeline includes Uefa's two-year ban in 2020, overturned on appeal to Cas in July 2020. The saga continues with potential sanctions and appeals.
