Cadillac Formula 1 shareholder Mark Walter faces a class-action lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The complaint alleges Walter used TWG Global, Delaware Life Insurance, and Group 1001 to conceal federal investigations and divert billions from policyholders' funds. Plaintiff Ira Rosner, represented by Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd, claims insurers funneled approximately 42% of assets — around $17 billion — into Walter's private network instead of low-risk investments. This network funded acquisitions of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers, and expansion into motorsport via TWG Motorsport acquiring Andretti Global and partnering with General Motors for the Cadillac F1 team.

A Group 1001 spokesperson acknowledged the suit but denied wrongdoing, vowing to defend vigorously. The civil suit does not halt track operations, and no criminal charges exist. TWG Global stated categorically at the Dutch Grand Prix it is not considering selling the Cadillac team. Meanwhile, Walter agreed to sell stakes in the Lakers and Chelsea (a 25% holding with Todd Boehly), receiving nearly $1 billion from Clearlake.
