Since the release occurs late in the legacy stable branch, changes from 14.4-RELEASE consist mostly of bug fixes, driver updates, and new versions of externally-maintained software.

FreeBSD 14.5-RELEASE supports the amd64, i386, aarch64, armv7, powerpc, poerpcspe, powerpc64, powerpc64le, and riscv64 architectures. Users can install from bootable ISO images, USB memory sticks, or over the network. The release includes DVD1 and disc1 images for base OS installation, alongside bootonly images for network-based installs. SHA512 and SHA256 hashes, as well as PGP-signed checksums, are available on the official website.
