Intel's Core Ultra 400-series 'Nova Lake' CPUs are nearing launch after successfully passing USB4 and PCIe 5.0 compliance testing. The platform has cleared certification with the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) and PCI-SIG, confirming all advertised specifications function correctly.

Starting with USB-IF, two 'Nova Lake-H' device IDs (D331 and D333) are certified for USB4 compliance, along with ID 6E6E for the 'Nova Lake' PCH-S chipset supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2. Intel employed a desktop chipset and laptop CPU strategy to achieve Qualification by Similarity, avoiding pre-launch disclosure of flagship desktop CPUs.

For PCIe, Intel's 900-series chipset IDs were added in April, with August additions for CPUs including D461, D465, and D467-D46A, likely 'Nova Lake-S' CPUs. Mass production is rumored to begin in Q4 2026, with first SKUs arriving in Q1 2027. The initial 'Nova Lake-S' will feature a 28-core single-compute die SKU, while a 52-core flagship version remains undefined for 2027 desktop availability.
