伯恩利在Turf Moor场馆的无胜纪录将突破一年， following a 2-1 home defeat against Wolves。On October 18, it will be exactly 12 months since the Clarets beat Leeds 2-0 in the Premier League. Since that victory, Burnley have lost 11 and drawn 10 home league games, marking the longest winless streak across England's top four tiers.
Jamie Vardy opened the scoring for his new side with a goal in his second appearance, his first since returning last month. However, defensive errors proved costly. Kyle Walker gifted possession away outside his own penalty area, allowing Fer Lopez to equalise before half-time. After the break, Igor's poor touch enabled Tawanda Chirewa to score the winner, securing Wolves' first victory in three games and lifting them to sixth place in the table.
The result leaves Burnley facing boos from their own supporters and without a home league win for over a year. Vardy, 39, insisted his legs still have plenty left after netting, while the result extended Wolves' unbeaten run in the competition.
Key moments saw Vardy open the scoring early, but costly mistakes by Burnley's defence allowed Wolves to seize control. The home side could not recover, ending the match to a chorus of boos as their fifth league defeat of the season was confirmed.
