Robert Stock's comeback season with the New York Mets ended Wednesday when the right-hander was placed on the 15-day injured list due to numbness in his fingers. Stock had been scheduled to start against Pete Alonso and the Baltimore Orioles at Citi Field, but Xzavion Curry was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to make the start instead. The 29-year-old also had right-handed reliever Daniel Duarte placed on the 15-day IL with a left hamstring strain, ending his season.

Left-hander Jefry Yan was recalled from Syracuse. Duarte went 2-0 with a 2.12 ERA and two saves in 24 appearances. Stock, 36, said his condition is a byproduct of thoracic outlet syndrome surgery he underwent in March.

He experienced numbness after throwing about 60 or 70 pitches. Stock finished 1/3 of an inning with a 5.93 ERA in eight games for the Mets this season, earning his first major league win since 2019.
