MLB Injury & Slump Report
The Mariners dealt a blow to their lineup Thursday morning when they placed catcher Cal Raleigh on the 10-day injured list due to a right oblique strain, marking the first time in his six-year career that the AL MVP runner-up has required a stint on the IL. Meanwhile, the pressure mounts on Texas Rangers star Corey Seager as he attempts to overcome a frustrating downturn, currently sitting hitless in his last 27 at-bats across seven consecutive games, a slump he stated he needs to actively "figure it out" to escape.
