A new app called Duo-Man transforms the 2026 iPhone Duo into a Sony Walkman experience. Developer Vidit Bhargava created the app during a hackathon after bringing a real 1980s Walkman to show attendees. The app allows users to open the Duo device, select an album to 'insert' as a cassette, and close it to begin playback.

Bhargava recorded authentic button clicks and static noise from a real Walkman to enhance the nostalgic experience. While initially a demo created for fun, the app will now be released publicly. The experience taps into retro tech nostalgia, offering a unique way to listen to Apple Music with the tactile feel of a classic cassette player.

The project highlights how modern hardware can recreate the charm of vintage audio devices for a new generation of users.
