Taylor Farms, based in Salinas, Calif., generates billions in annual sales and counts major clients like Walmart, Whole Foods Market, and Costco, as well as restaurant chains such as Taco Bell and McDonald's. Produce from its single processing facilities is often distributed widely across the U.S.

In response to the outbreak, Taylor Farms announced on Friday that it is voluntarily removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market. This action underscores the company's role in the food supply chain and the significant impact such outbreaks can have on both consumers and businesses.
