Trinity Rodman played a key role in Washington Spirit's 1-0 victory over Bay FC on Sunday, ending the team's four-game winless run. Rodman's shot in first-half stoppage time hit the crossbar, but teammate Paige Metayer scored the decisive goal. Rodman, who missed nearly four months last season due to a persistent back problem, has started all 21 of Washington's league matches this season. She has recorded 10 goals and five assists, already a single-season career high. Rodman said she adjusted her playing style to stay on the field, focusing on avoiding risky tackles. She credited the changes for her increased availability and productivity. "I'm happy with the new and improved version of myself," Rodman said. "I'm the same Trin, just improved little parts of my game." Washington Spirit moved into second place in the NWSL standings following the win. Rodman entered the game tied for the most regular-season goal contributions in club history and took the lead during the match.

Rodman's availability has been the biggest difference from last year. After returning from injury in August 2025, she acknowledged she would need to change how she played. Her 15 goal contributions this season already exceed her previous career best of 14 in 2024. The forward said the tweaks to her game have helped her stay healthy and perform at a high level consistently.
