Retroid has entered the dual-screen handheld market with its teaser for the Pocket Duo, a modern remake of the Nintendo DS. The device appears to compete directly with the Ayn Thor, though the teaser revealed minimal details about specs, pricing, or release dates. With several dual-screen options already available, Retroid has a clear market blueprint to follow.

The company brings experience with similar devices, including the Retroid Pocket 6 and Pocket Flip 2 featuring 5.5-inch OLED displays. The Pocket Duo will reportedly eliminate the need for cables or clips, unlike Retroid's existing Dual Screen Add-on. Based on its recent Pocket Nova starting at $239, the Pocket Duo is expected to fall between the Anbernic RG DS ($100) and Ayaneo Pocket DS ($579+) in price.

Retroid could potentially use the Qualcomm QCS8550 chip from the Pocket Nova, capable of simulating Nintendo DS, 3DS, and Switch titles.
