Dyson has launched the CameraJet, a $500 three-in-one oral care device combining an electric toothbrush, water flosser, and rinsing system. Founder James Dyson describes it as a new way to maintain oral health using a camera, machine learning, precision fluid dynamics, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The device features a 100k pixel macro lens camera (0.1 megapixels) mounted under the brush head, supported by 16 million lines of code and an AI system trained on 470,000 dental images.

This "Gap Optical Targeting" system analyzes 28 live images per second to detect gaps between teeth and fires a conical jet of fluid within 100 milliseconds. The onboard water tank holds just 12.5ml (0.42 fl oz), utilizing an anti-gravity diaphragm pump to function in any orientation. A companion My Dyson app provides live viewing of hard-to-reach areas, personalized brushing feedback, and adjustable intensity settings.

Dyson emphasizes that no images are recorded or stored on the device or in the cloud. The company's fluid dynamicists spent years optimizing the jet profile for plaque removal, leveraging Dyson's core expertise in moving air and fluids into tight crevices.
