Apple has filed a new document in its ongoing lawsuit against Open AI, claiming 'shocking evidence' from a forensic inspection of a MacBook used by former engineer Chang Liu. The filing reveals Liu downloaded a confidential Apple circuit schematic and used it in his work at Open AI. Apple alleges Liu exploited a security bug to download confidential files after leaving for Open AI in January.

The company says Liu sent instructions to destroy evidence upon learning of Apple's investigation, and used a tool with the same name as an internal Apple engineering application. Liu allegedly ran a simulation in March using the circuit schematic in LTspice, an electrical engineering tool, and stated his AI 'agent' learned to run LTspice and review results. Apple argues that feeding trade secret information into AI creates irreversible uses.

The company now seeks access to Liu's Mac mini, which synced via iCloud to the MacBook. Apple contends this evidence demonstrates the urgent need for expedited discovery, showing trade secrets are being used and evidence destroyed.
