China’s BYD Targets Four European Plants to Anchor Regional Push

BYD Co. plans to establish four plants in Europe over the long term as the Chinese carmaker seeks to comply with emerging local-manufacturing rules and win over more customers. The manufacturer is targeting three vehicle assembly factories as well as one electric-vehicle battery plant in the region, Alfredo Altavilla, a former Fiat Chrysler manager who advises BYD in Europe, told reporters at an event in Turin late on Wednesday.
