David Moyes says he has never met or spoken to Everton owner Dan Friedkin since returning as manager in January 2025. Friedkin, head of The Friedkin Group based in Houston, has not attended a home game since completing the takeover in December 2024.

Moyes told reporters before Everton's match against Manchester United that his real contact is chief executive Angus Kinnear, with Friedkin's son-in-law Rishi Majithia as the next link to the ownership. "I don't really get any direct conversations with them," said Moyes.

Fans reacted angrily during last Saturday's match at Bournemouth after news the club accepted a £40m bid from Nottingham Forest for midfielder Harrison Armstrong. Everton pulled out of the deal, but frustration remained after Beto was sold to Fiorentina on deadline day before a replacement was secured. USA forward Folarin Balogun backed out of a move from Monaco at the 11th hour. Everton finished the window with just 18 senior players.

Moyes reiterated his commitment, saying: "I wouldn't have come back for anybody but Everton." He acknowledged the new owners are "still feeling their way in" and believes things will improve as they get to know each other.
