Waymo is expanding to Singapore, marking its next step in international growth beyond the U.S. The company plans to begin public ride services in the country by 2028. Over the coming months, its first Jaguar I-PACE vehicles will arrive in Singapore as Waymo prepares for operations. Throughout 2027, specialists will manually drive the vehicles across Singapore’s streets to map them and adapt the system to local road geometry and weather.

Waymo expects to launch rides to the public via its own app in 2028. This follows its earlier international move to Tokyo, where testing began in 2025 and commercial availability is targeted for 2027. In Tokyo, rides will be offered through both the Waymo app and the GO Taxi app.

In both Japan and Singapore, Waymo aims to provide first-and-last-mile connectivity, particularly for users not near subway stations or those needing quick access to transit hubs. The expansion reflects Waymo’s strategy to complement robust public transit networks in dense urban areas.
