Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. exited early from Sunday's 7-2 win at the Texas Rangers due to left lower back tightness. Manager John Schneider said Guerrero felt something in his back a couple of days ago making a stretch play at first and was tight before the game. "Just wanted to be careful and hopefully he's good for tomorrow," Schneider said. Guerrero was replaced in the field in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Myles Straw entered the game in left field, while Josh Smith moved from there to third base. Kazuma Okamoto then switched from third to first base, where Guerrero was playing. Guerrero had a single in the first inning and hit a comebacker to Jacob de Grom in the third.

He is hitting .263 with nine homers and 56 RBIs in 141 games this season. Okamoto played only one inning at first base before moving back to third after Charles Mc Adoo pinch hit for Smith in the fifth inning and re-entering at first. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
