Western Conference Playoff Races
The Vegas Golden Knights secured their postseason berth after Jack Eichel scored 1:19 into overtime, defeating the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 in a critical late-night contest. The overtime victory came under adverse circumstances for the Avalanche, as coach Jared Bednar was hospitalized after taking a puck to the right cheek during the game. Meanwhile, the San Jose Sharks face elimination despite forward Tyler Toffoli's season efforts, falling 4-3 in a shootout, leaving them 30 points clear of their earlier standing but now fighting to stay alive.
