Apple remains on track to deliver a revolutionary iPhone 20 in 2027 for the device's 20th anniversary, according to a new Bloomberg report cited by AppleInsider. The anniversary model is described as the biggest overhaul and most groundbreaking iPhone in years, featuring a curved glass chassis and thinner bezels.

Tim Cook previously stated the iPhone X would "set the path for technology for the next decade," a prediction validated as both iPhone and Android devices adopted its design language. The 2027 release will test whether that decade-long trajectory holds.

Naming conventions remain uncertain. Apple skipped iPhone 9, jumping from iPhone 8 to iPhone X in 2017. Reports suggest Apple may skip the iPhone 19 lineup entirely, moving straight to an iPhone 20 range. However, it is unclear if the entire lineup will carry the anniversary branding or if a single model will be singled out.

While the curved glass detail alone may not seem as disruptive as the iPhone X's gesture navigation, the report maintains Apple is positioned to redefine the smartphone form factor once again.
