XMG has launched the RTX 5070 configuration for its APEX 17 (M25) laptop, marking the first model in the lineup to feature NVIDIA's 2026 GPU with 12 GB GDDR7 memory — a 50% increase over the previous 8 GB standard. Announced at Computex 2026, the new tier sits above the existing RTX 5060 version that debuted in November 2025. Both share the same chassis, Ryzen 9 9955HX processor (16 cores, 32 threads), 17.3-inch WQHD 240 Hz panel covering 100% DCI-P3 and sRGB, and connectivity including HDMI 2.1, dual USB-C with DisplayPort 2.1/1.4, and Wi-Fi 6E. The RTX 5070 runs at 115 W TGP with Dynamic Boost, and the extra VRAM delivers measurable gains in AAA texture quality and local AI workloads.

The laptop supports up to 128 GB DDR5-5600 across two SO-DIMM slots and 16 TB across dual PCIe 4.0 M.2 drives, though a memory shortage currently limits bestware.com to 48 GB modules. Dimensions hold at 402 × 265 × 28.6 mm and 2.8 kg with the 73 Wh battery. A full-size numpad, per-key multicolor LED backlighting, and 150 × 90 mm glass touchpad round out the input package.

Pricing starts at €2,534 for the RTX 5070 configuration (€285 over the €2,249 RTX 5060 base), with a 5% early-bird discount dropping it to €2,407.30 until July 20. bestware.com's concurrent summer sale offers up to 20% off select models.

The 12 GB VRAM bump addresses a genuine bottleneck for 1440p gaming and on-device inference, but the unchanged chassis and cooling raise questions about sustained 115 W performance. XMG's modular approach — same SKU, GPU-only refresh — keeps inventory simple, yet buyers should verify thermal headroom before assuming the higher TGP translates to real-world gains.
