Microsoft has unveiled a special edition Gears of War: E-Day wireless Xbox controller ahead of the game's October 6, 2026 launch. The controller is available for pre-order at $89.99, a $25 premium over the standard Xbox wireless controller. While the internals remain identical to the standard model, the design features a complete visual overhaul inspired by the game's aesthetic.

The customized controller includes a translucent d-pad topper and X button, a red right joystick, and translucent red triggers. The grips feature a textured "leather-like" finish on the back and sides for enhanced comfort and grip.

In addition to the themed controller, the Xbox Design Lab will offer new Gears of War: E-Day customization components designed by heavy metal artist Luke Preece. These include a custom top case featuring two Chainsaw Lancers flanked by skulls, along with various custom buttons. However, these Design Lab options are not yet available at the time of writing.

Both the special edition controller and Design Lab customizations will only be available for a limited time.
