The device maintains backward compatibility with older UHS-I cards, targeting content creators and gamers who need rapid data handling for 8K footage and large game files.

This move pushes the PCIe-based microSD Express standard into more accessible hardware. When paired with Transcend's USD710S memory card, the combo delivers SSD-class performance, aiming to reduce load times for the Nintendo Switch 2 and other portable consoles while supporting AR/VR devices and action cameras.

The reader features a metal alloy housing for heat dissipation and a scratch-resistant finish. It uses a USB-C connector for plug-and-play compatibility with Windows, macOS, and tablets. Transcend backs the RDE3 with a two-year warranty and offers free RecoveRx data recovery software, reinforcing its focus on reliability for demanding workflows.
