SiFive unveiled its Performance P570 Gen 3 processor, positioning it as the fastest out‑of‑order RISC‑V core in the segment. Built for edge AI, high‑end consumer gadgets and commercial IoT, the chip promises a substantially sizable leap over the earlier P550 Gen 1 for demanding applications while supporting the latest RVA23 ISA profile. Co‑founder Krste Asanovic said the design balances raw speed with area and power efficiency.

Architecturally, the P570 features a three‑wide, 13‑stage out‑of‑order superscalar pipeline and an upgraded 128‑bit vector unit. Benchmarks show a 7‑13% uplift on SpecInt 2006‑2017 workloads and a 13% drop in dynamic power versus the P550 Gen 1. AI‑centric tests report double the Geekbench score and up to 21‑fold gains on select convolution kernels compared with the previous generation.

Beyond the core, SiFive adds system IP like the RISC‑V Advanced Interrupt Architecture, a second‑gen IOMMU and WorldGuard secure‑execution blocks, and it scales to 16 cores per subsystem. Full RVA23 compliance—including Hypervisor, Vector, optional FP16/BF16 and crypto extensions—gives developers a stable base for Android, Linux and other OSes. The P570 ships today; a vector‑lite P550 Gen 3 serves tighter area budgets.
