Samsung Display will take the stage at SID’s Display Week 2026 in Los Angeles, running May 5‑7, to unveil a suite of next‑gen panels. Chief among them is a Flex Chroma Pixel OLED that reaches 3,000 nits in high‑brightness mode while covering 96% of the BT.2020 color space. The company frames the launch as a benchmark for smartphone screens, which typically linger around 70% BT.2020 coverage.

A 6.8‑inch Sensor OLED display pushes resolution to 500 PPI, a 33% jump from last year’s 374 PPI offering. By co‑depositing OLED emitters with organic photodiodes, the panel can read biometric data such as heart rate directly from the screen. Integrated privacy protection, dubbed Flex Magic Pixel, obscures sensitive readouts from side angles without blacking out the entire image.

Samsung also showcases EL‑QD panels that hit 500 nits, a 25% boost over the 400‑nit reference shown in 2025, and a stretchable automotive instrument cluster delivering 200 PPI—roughly 67% higher than its predecessor. Both advances promise sharper visuals for mobile devices and clearer readouts in vehicles, while the EL‑QD efficiency gains could shave power draw in AI‑heavy workloads.
