Saber Interactive has announced a new AAA video game based on Lionsgate's billion-dollar John Wick franchise during Sony's State of Play showcase. The single-player third-person action game, currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, promises to deliver the franchise's signature "gun-fu" combat style with Keanu Reeves reprising his iconic role. The game is tailored for mature audiences and will expand the franchise's lore with an original narrative set before the events of the films.

Developed in collaboration with franchise director Chad Stahelski and Lionsgate, the untitled game aims to capture the cinematic action and immersive world-building that made the films successful. Lionsgate's Jenefer Brown emphasized their close collaboration with Saber's team to ensure authenticity, while Saber CEO Matthew Karch expressed honor at bringing the Baba Yaga to life in gaming form. The announcement comes as the John Wick universe continues to expand beyond films into television and spinoffs.

Saber Interactive, known for blockbuster hits like Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and World War Z, brings its expertise in creating thrilling action experiences to this project. With the franchise's proven track record of over $1 billion in box office revenue and a dedicated fanbase, this game represents a significant expansion of the John Wick universe into interactive entertainment.
