RTX 3060 Return Confirmed

NVIDIA plans to bring back the RTX 3060 GPU this month, with Chinese Board Channels reporting a mid-March restock of the two generations old "Ampere" graphics card. The return aligns with earlier Q1 2026 rumors but leaves uncertainty about whether the 12GB or 8GB variant with different memory bus configurations will be reintroduced.

The decision to revive an older GPU puzzles industry observers, especially amid memory supply chain constraints. The RTX 3060 uses GDDR6 memory, potentially more available than the GDDR7 used by modern "Blackwell" GPUs. Some speculate NVIDIA chose this model over the RTX 4060 due to its different Samsung 8N foundry node versus the TSMC 4N node.

Add-in card partners are handling most of the work to bring back this SKU, with NVIDIA supplying only the GPU die and memory. The pricing will ultimately determine sales success when modern alternatives exist. Various brands will soon offer RTX 3060 models, though marketing approaches may differ from company to company.
