Following a roadside laptop find that confirmed Microsoft will launch a 20-core NVIDIA RTX Spark Surface Laptop, Windows Central now reports a Surface Laptop Ultra on the other end of the Spark spectrum. Microsoft will reveal the full RTX Spark Surface line-up on October 7 at a special event in San Francisco.
Alongside the 20-core variant, Microsoft will launch a Surface Laptop with NVIDIA's 18-core RTX Spark. The 18-core SKU will start with 24 GB of unified memory, while the 24-core version will start with 32 GB of memory. There will reportedly be a performance demonstration showing how the new Arm SoC delivers the same performance on battery as when plugged in.
The 15-inch laptops will both feature the same Pixel Sense Ultra touchscreen with 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness and high color accuracy, with haptic touchpads 30% larger than those on the Surface Laptop 15-inch. It has also been confirmed that there will be three USB Type-C ports, a Type-A port, an HDMI port, and a full-size SD card reader in the new Surface Laptop Ultras.
