NVIDIA Reflex Now on Linux via CachyOS Proton

The CachyOS development team has integrated NVIDIA's Reflex latency reduction API into their custom Proton translation layer, proton-cachyos. This new feature utilizes the vkd3d-low-latency DX12-to-Vulkan translation layer, allowing Windows games to run with reduced latency on Linux.

Previously, while other vkd3d versions supported AMD's Anti-Lag, NVIDIA Reflex was absent. The implementation in proton-cachyos works with both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs, though it requires in-game support and does not function on Intel GPUs. Before this update, enabling Reflex on Valve's Proton involved a complex DLL replacement process.

Now, users can simply add "PROTON_VKD3D_LOWLATENCY=1" as a launch argument in Steam to activate the feature. While direct benchmarks are unavailable, the developer reports noticeable improvements in frame pacing and consistency. This enhancement is part of the proton-cachyos version 11.0-20260703 update.
