Minisforum has launched the MS-A2 mini desktop server, a compact workstation designed for programming, business, and home lab applications. The new system measures just 196×189×48 mm (1.78 L) and features AMD's Ryzen 9 9955HX mobile processor with a claimed 100 W turbo TDP. The MS-A2 targets users who need powerful computing in minimal space without sacrificing connectivity or storage options.

Pricing starts at $799 for the barebones configuration without RAM or storage, while a mid-range model with 32 GB DDR5-5600 RAM and 1 TB SSD costs $1,199. The fully loaded version with 96 GB RAM and 2 TB SSD reaches $1,919 on the Minisforum store. Storage capacity impresses with support for three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots plus U.2 NVMe drives, offering up to 23 TB total.

The mini server excels in connectivity with dual 10 Gb SFP+ ports, dual 2.5 Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. The front panel includes dual USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and audio jacks, while the rear features HDMI 2.1, USB-C with DisplayPort 2.0 Alt mode, and multiple USB ports. A built-in PCIe 4.0 ×8 slot supports GPU upgrades and can split into two PCIe ×4 connections, making the MS-A2 versatile enough for both server and workstation workloads.
