KRUX unveiled its Drox mechanical keyboard at Computex 2026, delivering a compact 60% layout that doesn't sacrifice functionality. The KRXA001 model combines retro aesthetics with modern features, featuring a built-in display for animations and a multifunction control knob that sets it apart from typical compact keyboards.

Tri-mode connectivity lets users switch between wired USB, wireless dongle, and Bluetooth without interruption. The typing experience relies on KRUX Violet linear switches housed in a soundproofed five-layer gasket-mount design. Hot-swap support means enthusiasts can change switches without soldering, while durable PBT keycaps and full ARGB backlighting complete the premium package.

Customization happens through web-based software rather than clunky desktop apps. The keyboard includes spare switches and both keycap and switch pullers in the box, eliminating the need for separate purchases. This attention to user experience reflects a growing trend toward complete out-of-box solutions.

At $159, the Drox competes directly with enthusiast favorites like the Drop ALT and GK98. Its display integration could push competitors to innovate beyond just RGB lighting, making compact keyboards more appealing to mainstream users who want customization without the learning curve.
