Keychron has expanded its Q HE 8K gaming keyboard lineup with the new Q5 HE 8K, a compact 1800 layout option for gamers who want a smaller footprint without losing the num pad. Priced at $239.99, the keyboard is available now in black and white on Keychron's web store, with an Amazon release planned for later.

Like its siblings—the Q1 HE, Q3 HE, and Q6 HE—the Q5 HE 8K features Ultra-Fast Magnetic Lime switches, full metal construction, and an 8 kHz polling rate. At 408 mm long, it's more compact than the Q6 HE 8K (446 mm) while only sacrificing five keys. The keyboard also includes a programmable knob and macro keys above the num pad, features uncommon in 1800 layouts.

Built with polyurethane foam gasket mount, aluminum plate, and OSA profile double-shot PBT keycaps, the Q5 HE 8K offers wired-only connectivity with a 20.6 mm front height. It supports analog input features like SOCD, DKS, Rapid Trigger, and controller emulation, and is fully configurable via the Keychron Launcher web app with on-board macro recording and hardware profile switching.
