Intel Nova Lake-S iGPU Power Draw Revealed

Intel's upcoming "Nova Lake-S" processors are rumored to feature integrated graphics with significant power demands. A leak from Jaykihn suggests a 16-core SKU with 12 Xe3P cores will dedicate 65 Watts solely to its integrated graphics.

This configuration includes four P-Cores, eight E-Cores, and four LPE-Cores, alongside the 12 Xe3P GPU cores. This specific core arrangement necessitates a dual-phase power delivery for the integrated graphics, a departure from the typical single-phase rail found in most Intel CPUs.

This increased power requirement for the iGPU aligns with Intel's aim to boost graphics performance in "Nova Lake." High-end models, including a 52-core dual compute die variant, are anticipated to have PL2 power levels up to 474 Watts, potentially requiring motherboards with three 8-pin CPU power connectors.
