During today's gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, Amplitude Studios announced that Humankind 2, the sequel to 2021's critically acclaimed Humankind, is releasing on PC in 2027.

Humankind 2 is a historical turn-based strategy game where every age transforms your civilization. Building on the first game's mechanics, the sequel introduces new progression systems, innovative features, enhanced visuals, and a modernized UI.

Reimagined cultural evolution lets players adopt cultures with rich progression trees, creating unique civilizations. New stories from around the world, including the Saqqaq, Etruscans, and Scythians, add depth. A changing climate also transforms the strategic map.

Amplitude Studios will develop Humankind 2 alongside fans via the Amplifiers platform. To celebrate, they released a video 'Humankind - Celebrating 5 years' on YouTube. The original Humankind is on sale for 90% off on Steam until 8 September 2026.
