Wildlight Entertainment is pushing forward with Highguard despite significant setbacks. The free-to-play raid shooter studio announced its first content update since mass layoffs raised questions about the game's future. The news comes after middling reception following the game's launch and subsequent developer downsizing that cast doubt on the project's viability.

The update introduces Cloudreach, an airship base with elevated gameplay featuring both long-range sniper engagements and close-quarters combat. Players will battle in and around a docked airship with the Anchor Stone target inside. The update also includes the Lockpick tool, which fires darts to open or temporarily disable doors and windows.

The Lockpick uses a new ammo type called Darts and can be equipped in the start loadout menu or found in red chests. This content release represents Wildlight's commitment to improving the game despite recent turmoil. The update arrives the same week as the announcement, showing the studio's determination to deliver on its promises to retain player interest.
