THQ Nordic and developer Paraglacial have set a June 2 Steam Early Access release date for Fatekeeper, a first-person action RPG that combines melee combat with spellcasting in a handcrafted post-apocalyptic world. The game resurfaced with a release date trailer after its initial August 2025 showcase announcement, giving players their first substantial look at the project.

Paraglacial, a 13-person studio, has built an intricate skill tree system that supports flexible character builds and varied combat approaches. The game's post-apocalyptic setting draws from multiple cultures and historical periods, offering a focused narrative alongside opportunities for exploration. Players can venture through diverse biomes including ancient battlegrounds, underground caverns, forests, and ruined sanctuaries.

Combat spans traditional weapons like swords, axes, clubs, and maces, plus throwable projectiles, all customizable through an alchemy system. The game features myth-inspired enemies ranging from corrupted druids to dragons and giant insects. These encounters encourage experimentation with different weapon, gear, and spell combinations.

For a small indie team, Fatekeeper shows impressive scope with its blend of precise combat mechanics and deep character customization. The Early Access launch will give players hands-on experience with the combat systems while the developers continue expanding the world and narrative content.
