Empulse PS5 Launch Delayed, 1047 Games Stalls Certification

1047 Games, the studio behind Splitgate, set Empulse— a Titanfall‑inspired shooter— to launch in Early Access on Xbox, PS5, and Steam on June 24 at 9 AM PT. The plan promised a fresh movement‑heavy experience for fans of first‑person shooters. It aimed to blend fast‑paced gunplay with fluid locomotion, echoing Titanfall’s signature mechanics.

Less than a day before launch, the studio revealed that certification delays would push Empulse’s PS5 release back. Sony’s review process appears to be taking longer than anticipated, mirroring the two‑month lag that hit FragPunk between PC and console launches. This postponement may frustrate players who pre‑ordered or added the title to their wishlists.

Empulse already sits on more than 250,000 wishlists across PlayStation, Steam, and Xbox, yet its demo peaked at just 4,316 concurrent players in the first month. The developer says it is reallocating resources to refine gameplay based on community feedback, hoping to raise engagement before the next release window.

The delay underscores how certification can stall launch momentum even for well‑positioned indie titles. Players will have to wait for Sony’s green light, while the studio focuses on polishing Empulse’s core mechanics. Until then, the community will watch how the title performs once it finally hits PS5 shelves.
