EA DICE is using its Battlefield Labs playtesting program to refine Season 2 content for Battlefield 6, focusing on the new Contaminated map. Developers are evaluating vehicle-infantry balance, cover placement, and unique gameplay mechanics ahead of launch. The map's size sits between Eastwood and Mirak Valley, comparable to classic maps like St. Quentin Scar.

The testing phase includes more than just map evaluation. DICE will also trial the AH-6 Little Bird helicopter and explore systems like Aircraft Radar tuning. The team is actively working on fixes for persistent issues like "death behind cover" desync, with Lead Producer David Sirland emphasizing that solutions require careful iteration across multiple systems.

Looking further ahead, the studio plans to rebuild Golmud Railway from Battlefield 4 for BF6, aiming to preserve its combined arms gameplay on a larger scale. Internal testing for a Battle Royale Solos mode is also underway to evaluate pacing and balance. Players can sign up for Labs sessions to influence these ongoing developments.
