CHERRY's gaming brand, CHERRY XTRFY, has unveiled its first magnetic-switch keyboards utilizing Tunnel Magnetoresistance (TMR) technology, scheduled for release around CES 2026. Unlike traditional Hall effect sensors, TMR offers superior precision and significantly reduced power consumption. This breakthrough addresses a major pain point for gamers: the trade-off between high-performance features and wireless battery life.

Joakim Jansson, Director of Product Management, highlighted that the MX 8.2 Pro TMR provides ultra-fast wireless performance while maintaining the customizability users demand. A standout feature is the hot-swap support, allowing users to mix magnetic and mechanical switches for a truly personalized typing experience. The lineup will expand this spring with the K5 Pro TMR.

This innovation positions CHERRY to lead the competitive gaming peripherals market by solving the power efficiency issues that have plagued previous magnetic switch designs.
