Biostar, a leading manufacturer of edge AI computing solutions, industrial PCs, graphics cards, and storage devices, today announced the EdgeComp MT‑N150, a compact edge computing system designed for intelligent security, surveillance, and smart‑city applications. With support for AI acceleration solutions from partners, the MT‑N150 gives system integrators and AI developers the freedom to choose an accelerator platform that matches their AI workload, software environment, and project requirements.

From facial recognition and crowd monitoring to fire and smoke detection, PPE detection, and license‑plate recognition, the system brings AI processing closer to where security and monitoring data is generated. Powered by the Intel Twin Lake N150 quad‑core processor, with speeds up to 3.60 GHz and a 6 W power profile, it delivers efficient performance for edge applications where low power draw and limited space are key considerations.

Support for AI accelerators from DEEPX and Memry X lets teams pick the best fit for inference workloads, rather than building around a single NPU ecosystem. The MT‑N150 also offers DDR5 memory, SATA III, M.2 Key‑M 2242/2280 slots for NVMe or SATA, and wide‑range 9‑24 V DC input or USB‑C PD Sink at 20V/5A for flexible power integration.

Connectivity is versatile: an M.2 Key‑B slot with SIM support enables 4G/5G modules, an M.2 Key‑E slot accommodates Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth modules, and two GbE LAN ports provide wired links. Up to three display outputs via HDMI and Display Port via USB‑C support multi‑display setups. The compact form factor and modular design make the MT‑N150 a practical foundation for moving AI intelligence closer to cameras, sensors, and infrastructure across smart‑city, public‑safety, and industrial‑monitoring systems.
