AMD's upcoming Ryzen 500 series APUs are taking shape with the 'Medusa Point' and 'Medusa Halo' SoCs, featuring distinct GPU architectures. The 'Medusa Point' variant will incorporate RDNA 4m, a mobile-optimized version of AMD's next-gen graphics architecture designed for laptops and mini PCs. This marks a significant shift from previous generations, as RDNA 4m will support FSR 4 even in lower-power configurations.

While 'Medusa Point' targets mobile devices with its RDNA 4m graphics, the higher-end 'Medusa Halo' will utilize AMD's future RDNA 5/UDA GPU microarchitecture. Both APU variants will feature Zen 6 CPU cores, with 'Medusa Point' mixing Zen 6 and Zen 6c cores for efficiency, while 'Medusa Halo' will use uniform Zen 6 clusters for maximum performance. The platform is also expected to adopt LPDDR6 memory, promising a 50% bandwidth increase over current LPDDR5X implementations.
