AMD and Meta have announced a major expansion of their strategic partnership, committing to deploy 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct GPUs to power Meta's next-generation AI infrastructure. The multi-year agreement spans multiple generations of AMD Instinct GPUs and aligns roadmaps across silicon, systems, and software to deliver AI platforms purpose-built for Meta's workloads.

The first deployment will utilize a custom AMD Instinct GPU based on the MI450 architecture, with shipments for the initial gigawatt deployment scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026. This infrastructure will be powered by 6th Gen AMD EPYC CPUs codenamed "Venice," running ROCm software and built on the AMD Helios rack-scale architecture. The AMD Helios platform was developed jointly by both companies through the Open Compute Project to enable scalable, rack-level AI infrastructure.

This collaboration positions AMD at the center of one of the industry's largest AI deployments, supporting Meta's push to scale AI infrastructure at unprecedented levels. By aligning silicon, systems, and software roadmaps, the partnership aims to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient infrastructure optimized for Meta's specific AI workloads, accelerating the global AI buildout.
