AMD and Rackspace Technology have signed a definitive agreement to deploy 30 megawatts of AMD-based compute across Rackspace's global data centers starting in late 2026. The deal transforms their May 2026 memorandum of understanding into a strategic partnership that positions AMD as the silicon layer foundation for Rackspace's governed AI stack, targeting regulated enterprise workloads.

The collaboration integrates AMD Instinct GPUs including the MI355X and MI350P processors alongside EPYC CPUs within an Enterprise AI Cloud architecture. This setup allows Rackspace to direct workloads to optimal compute resources while maintaining end-to-end accountability for performance and business outcomes. Both companies will allocate sales and marketing personnel to pursue opportunities in regulated sectors.

Healthcare providers have shown early interest in this accelerated compute infrastructure for clinical AI applications and large-scale inference. The partnership delivers four integrated capabilities: Enterprise AI Cloud, Enterprise Inference Engine, Inference as a Service, and Bare Metal AMD Instinct solutions. This represents a shift from experimental AI toward agentic workflows running within core enterprise systems.

The collaboration aims to establish a new category of managed enterprise AI infrastructure that offers an alternative to traditional bare metal models. By combining AMD's compute hardware with Rackspace's governed cloud operating model, enterprises gain access to accountable AI infrastructure with openness and scalability needed for production workloads.
