1047 Games CEO Ian Proulx has announced that a small team within the studio is developing a new movement shooter inspired by Titanfall and Call of Duty Black Ops 3. The announcement came during a video revealing Splitgate: Arena Reloaded Season 2, where Proulx asked the community for feedback on what they'd like to see in the upcoming title. The studio has already published a form for play-testers to apply, suggesting the game has been in development for some time.

This new project comes amid mixed reception to Splitgate: Arena Reloaded's launch, with Proulx noting that 1047 Games has always aspired to be a multi-game studio. The timing of the announcement has led to speculation that the studio may be diversifying its portfolio following recent criticism. Despite launching the new project, Proulx emphasized that the company remains committed to Splitgate: Arena Reloaded and isn't abandoning the existing game.

Splitgate: Arena Reloaded Season 2 launches before the end of March, featuring community-requested additions including three new maps, a new biome, and the return of classic Team Deathmatch gameplay. The season will also reintroduce time trial races from the original Splitgate, complete with user-created maps and leaderboards. Notably, players can purchase the entire Season 2 battle pass using in-game Splitcoin currency without spending additional real money.
