Two US arcades claim the title of world's largest, creating a fascinating debate about what truly defines an arcade. Funspot in New Hampshire and Galloping Ghost in Illinois both offer massive collections of classic and modern arcade cabinets, drawing retro gaming enthusiasts from across the country.

Funspot, established in 1952, houses the nonprofit American Classic Arcade Museum with roughly 270 vintage machines from the 1980s and earlier. Guinness World Records certified Funspot as the "World's Largest Videogame Arcade" in 2008 with 581 machines. The facility spans multiple buildings and includes bowling alleys, mini-golf, and go-kart tracks alongside its gaming collection.

Galloping Ghost boasts over 1,000 arcade cabinets and 46 pinball machines in a single building near Chicago. While smaller in physical footprint than Funspot, its sheer number of playable machines makes it a serious contender for the title. The arcade's collection spans decades of gaming history, from rare prototypes to modern multiplayer cabinets like Pac-Man Battle Royale.
