Prime Video dropped the first teaser for Vought Rising just two days after The Boys series finale aired, signaling the franchise's immediate pivot to its next chapter. With Gen V canceled, Vought Rising and the planned The Boys: Mexico must carry the torch for this dark superhero universe that concluded with Homelander's defeat at Butcher's hands.

The prequel travels back to the 1950s to explore Vought International's sinister origins, following Supes who begin in the military before transitioning to the private sector. Creator Eric Kripke revealed the costume designs draw inspiration from USO performers, reflecting the era's aesthetic while maintaining the franchise's twisted tone.

Jensen Ackles returns as Soldier Boy during his patriotic early days, joined by Aya Cash reprising Stormfront/Clara Vought. The ensemble also features Mason Dye, Will Hochman, Elizabeth Posey, and Ethan Slater, with additional franchise favorites potentially appearing. The series arrives exclusively on Prime Video in 2027.

This rapid succession from finale to prequel announcement demonstrates Amazon's commitment to maximizing their investment in The Boys universe, even as they scale back other spinoff ambitions.
