Apple TV has unveiled an exciting teaser for the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, part of the MonsterVerse that brings together Godzilla, King Kong, and other kaiju from Toho Co., Ltd. The first season picked up where 2014’s Godzilla left off, focusing on Project Monarch, a secret organization studying kaiju since the 1950s. The story spans generations and involves siblings Kate and Kentaro Randa uncovering their family's ties to Monarch and the world of monsters. The season finale saw Godzilla battling an Ion Dragon and Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell) seemingly sacrificing himself.

Season two picks up with the fate of Monarch and the world hanging in the balance. The teaser hints at new secrets, reuniting heroes and villains on Kong’s Skull Island, and the rise of a new, mysterious Titan from the sea. The teaser suggests that opening a rift to another world will have consequences, hinting at a looming titan event.

The cast returns with Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell, alongside new additions like Takehiro Hira and Amber Midthunder. The series premieres on February 27, 2026, on Apple TV, with new episodes every Friday through May 1, 2026. Apple TV has also greenlit a spinoff prequel series featuring Wyatt Russell’s younger Shaw, set during the Cold War.

This expansion of the MonsterVerse is a significant move, building on the success of Godzilla Minus Zero, the sequel to Godzilla Minus One, set to release in November.
