Satellite images reveal new damage to Amazon data centers in the Middle East and a Saudi oil facility following Iranian missile and drone attacks. These images, from Europe’s Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites, offer independent verification of war damage amid escalating conflict.

Previously, three Amazon data centers in the UAE and Bahrain were damaged on March 1. On July 21, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have "destroyed" Amazon data centers in Bahrain using cruise missiles, releasing satellite images of the damage. Analysts used Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery to verify signs of the strikes but could not determine the extent of the damage.

Separately, Houthi attacks on Saudi oil refineries and the port of Yanbu threaten oil exports. The Houthis declared a naval blockade aiming to shut down Saudi oil exports through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Satellite images showed a fire at Saudi Aramco’s Jazan oil refinery, which was subsequently shut down. These attacks have led to a significant drop in oil tanker transits through the strait.
